Scouts get private tour of Algonquin mine to help secure geology activity badge

Cary, IL: Aggregate Industries’ Meyer Material hosted Cub Scout Troop 657 August 19th for a morning tour of the Alqonquin Mine Site. The tour, ran by Randi Wille, the Regional Estates and Environmental Manager, began with a discussion about the earth’s geology, the differences between rocks and minerals, the rock cycle and how the minerals are used.
